Liu Zijian


Liu Zijian graduated from Hubei Academy of Fine Arts in 1983, is one of the leading artists of experimental ink painting in the 1990s. He has made outstanding contributions to the innovation and academic discussion of the language of ink painting.

In his works, he strives to create a landscape full of collisions and ruins. The ink language is broad and magnificent. In his works, the viewer can not only feel the shock conveyed by the picture but also appreciate the artistr's deep thinking. 

Liu works as Professor of Fine Arts Department of Shenzhen University and Culture and Art Consultant for Zhongshan City. His works have been exhibited in Guggenheim Museum, Venice Biennial, USC Pacific Asia Museum, Palais Rihour, Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, but also collected by USC Pacific Asia Museum, National Art Museum of China, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Shanghai Art Museum, Jiangsu Art Gallery, Guangdong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Museum of Art, Shenzhen Art Museum, Shenzhen OCT Contemporary Art Center, J & J Foundation, Mercedes-Benz Shanghai Headquarters, Deloitte Accounting Office, Chengdu Yihe Real Estate Co., Ltd. and other institutions.
